1) Being Immortal isn't all it's cracked up to be.
2) We can't have children.
3) We can't grow old.
4) We have to kill our challengers. It's either us or them. There can be only one.
5) Watching my mortal friends grow old and die never gets easier with time. It only gets worse.
6) Wars never have a clear winner, only the living and the dead. Many of the dead should be alive, and many of the living long for death.
7) There is no real way to explain where we came from, or what we are.
8) Quickenings are hell.
9) We aren't perfect. We all make mistakes, some larger than others.
10) We can, and do, still love. Immortality just makes it harder to find someone who can love us in return.

{For Mun/Immortal Knowledge Only}

With everything that's happened lately, it's only natural I'm in a pensive mood. Over the years, I have had quite a few Teachers, and I've realized I've never really thanked them properly.

Cassandra*:
Cassandra taught me that being an Immortal woman was much tougher than it was for a man. She taught me how to be strong and how to survive in a mortal world.

The Romans:
As much as I dislike Rome, I must admit that I learned something valuable from them as well: vengeance does not mean victory.

Merlin:
From Merlin, I gained a formal education. He taught me to read and write, do sums, understand the universe (although astrophysics hadn't been invented yet), and that "magic is only magic when it isn't understood."

Master Zien:
If I said that Master Zien taught me to fight, he would probably correct me by saying that he instructed me how to not fight. I learned balance, both physically and in life, that lives are only to be taken if my own is in jeopardy, and there is true value in meditation.

Valmont:
I have to admit, I didn't much care for the Vicomte de Valmont when I first met him. He was indeed "conspicuously charming" as Madame de Volange phrased it, but he was also amusing. Making his acquaintance was an awakening. He taught me to take pleasure in everything: breathing, eating, dressing, and of course love play.

Wade Jameson:
Wade may not think he has taught me very much, all things considered, but he has taught me a very important lesson: love does exist. Although he never knew of my Immortality, I'm sure that he still would have loved me unconditionally, after getting over the shock. He brought joy and happiness into my life, and I spent the best twenty-two years of my life with him, Scot and Erin.
