Interview Questions for
broadsword_babe:
1. What's wrong with you?
Well, that's certainly a harsh way t'start.
But overall, aside from this Immortality thing & folks wanting m'head, I'm right peachy. Have a home, have a bloke, and I'm actually sorta lookin' forward t'th'future.
2. In your relationships, are you a success or a failure?
Depends on who y'ask about what. In bed, I'm not half bad, but I'm rubbish with communicatin'. I've lied. I've told half-truths. I've abandoned blokes who've sworn t'love me til death. Guess I'm bout six of one, a half-dozen of th'other.
3. What one thing holds you back from achieving everything you want?
What's t'say I haven't at one point or another?
4. On a scale of one to ten, rate your skill/success in the following areas: money, power, sex, love, friendship, family, job, mental health, looks.
Money: 7-ish. I know there's folk out there with more, but I have all I need or want.
Power: 5. I've never been much of a powermonger, but the few times I have wielded it didn't really work out for th'best.
Sex: 7-8. Alright, so I still have some hang-ups from m'time as a nun, but least I've got someone t'practice on now.
Love: 10. Let's just say it took 2,000 years t'get m'head on straight about that one.
Friendship: 6. Friends are tricky for me. I don't alway trust folks right off, but when I do, they've got a mate for life. Literally. Unless they do something stupid like betray me.
Family: 7. I'd like t'think I'm a pretty fair mum, even though I'll never have kids of m'own.
Job: 10. Fact is, I don't necessarily have t'work. Besides, I'm not the 9-5 office-type.
Mental Health: 7. I've always been a bit mental. *laughs* But that's getting better. Had a bit of a downturn during the '70s, but things are looking up.
Looks: 8-9. Not bad & th'nice thing about bein' a lass is I can change things up when I need to: hair, makeup, clothes, th'works.
5. What would your best friend/spouse/lover say is your worst fault? What would your worst enemy say is your greatest strength?
M'worst fault I'd havta say is m'temper. I can be fair fierce if th'mood strikes.
M'greatest strength? Maybe bein' a bit fearless. I don't back down from a fight.
6. Are you an asshole/dick/bitch/douchbag/asshat?
*laughs* Gawd, I hope not. If I am, I'm sure someone'll tell me.
7. What one thing would you like to do that your mun won't let you?
Claim a few more "historical" aliases: Maid Marian or Auntie Mame.
8. If you could have a pass to kill one other character, today, who would it be? Why?
Why, anyone who'd gotten the bright idea t'come after m'head occourse. Otherwise, I'm fine with living and let live.
Interview Questions for
celticdreamz:
1. When did you pick up this muse, and why?
Proto-Quinn started poking around my brainspace around August of 2007, but she didn't exactlly take form until closer to Thanksgiving.
2. If this is a canon muse, how well do you think you portray their canon? Be honest.
(see fandom!canon answer)
3. If this is an original character, how big of a Mary Sue/Gary Stu do you think they are...honestly?
I don't think Quinn's at all a Mary Sue. I don't see her leaping off tall buildings or what have you. Yeah, being Immortal has its bonuses of healing & coming back from the dead, but I always try to keep her humanity in mind.
4. If you could go back and do one thing differently, in your roleplay of this muse, what would it be?
I wish she'd had more time developing a friendship with Wes & Aidan before all that hit the fan.
5. What criticisms have you gotten about your portrayal of this muse? How do you feel about that? Has it changed how you write them?
Honestly, I haven't heard anything negative about Quinn. There are only a handful of strong, warrior-women Immortal!muses & we all play them differently.
6. If you have a fandom OC, do you believe that your muse is really a part of the fandom philosophy, or is just using the cool stuff of the fandom?
I honestly try to stay as close to the Highlander!canon as I can. Certain things like her having biological kids, to me, is absolutely off limits. But there are certain things that can be open to interpretation like catching a cold or having allergies, etc. Mostly, I have to adhere to historical!canon because of the times she's lived through.
7. If you chose your PB, why did you choose them? How well do you think they fit?
Bloody hell! Quinn's PB was a pain in the neck to find! At first, I thought Uma Thurman because of her attitude in the Kill Bill movies. Then, it was on to Connie Nielsen from Gladiator plus a few others. It really wasn't until I happened to be watching The Two Towers that I really got to thinking about Miranda. I lovedEowyn's "I fear neither death nor pain..." line and her whole fight scene with the Witch King in Return of the King just sealed it.
8. If you were told that you could only have three characters, for the rest of your time on LJ, would this character make the cut?
Absolutely. I love writing her. I love her interactions. I'm a historical nut, so I really enjoy digging through her past.
9. If your character is in a relationship, how did that develop, and how good do you think that relationship is? Does the relationship go against canon? Did you have to change your muse to make it fit? Does your muse have to go wildly OOC to do this ship?
How the relationship developed OOCly: Really damn fast. *laughs* Maybe too fast, but it works.
How the relationship developed ICly: Remember the 2,000 years bit? We're not kidding. From the start, she was warned about Methos, his methods, his snark, his attitude, etc. And up until recently (read: this summer) Quinn didn't want to think of Adam as a potential suitor. But with a nudge from the Tammy!Gods, she started thinking differently & realized she'd been living with her head in the ground about him.
...Against canon? You're joking right? With Adam being a canon muse, I think their relationship almost feels like it should be canon.
...Change the muse? A little bit, yeah. More or less, it was changing her way of thinking about him & realizing "be careful what you wish for, you might just get it."
...Wildly OOC? *mun!sporfle* Not at all!
10. If your muse is NOT in a relationship, what kind of ship do you think would work for them, if any?
(see above)
11. Have you ever used your muse IC to express your OOC issues? BE HONEST.
Once. I made the mistake of letting Quinn comment on a headmate's romantic life & people took it the wrong way. So, I'm not doing that again.
12. Do you ever feel like your muse is a magnet for wank? If so, why? Whose fault is that?
Honestly, I've never really had any wank!storms errupt around me or my muses. I definitely try to keep a distinct line between my muses' personalities and my own. And I kinda live by the adage "if you can't take it, don't dish it."
13. If you could give this muse one "award", what would it be?
I have no idea. Probably "Most Likely to Succeed" or something.
14. Whose opinion matters to you, in playing your character?
All opinions matter, honestly. I like to know how people perceive Quinn, and myself. I want to know what they think overall & how I'm doing writing her.
15. What opinion could you live without?
Any negative wankery, of course.
